WELCOME TO SOCKTOBER!

So what is Socktober? The unhoused population in our community has many needs. One need that really goes unnoticed is having a clean pair of socks. Socks are frequently the #1 MOST requested clothing item in shelters, yet they are the least donated because charities cannot accept used ones for sanitary reasons. There are a whole list of medical reasons behind providing something as simple as socks. Pulling on a clean, soft pair of socks provides immediate physical comfort and psychological relief.

October it the time of year to really focus on this need. As the temperatures begin to drop, yes they WILL drop, the need drastically increases. Help us “KILL THE CHILL”, as we help those in need with this simple gesture that makes make an immediate impact in the community.

 

HOW IT WORKS.

More details are being worked out so check back. It looks like we will do a two pronged approach. First, you bring a pair of NEW socks to the ticket booth and you will receive a discount on your ticket purchase! Second, we are also working on getting other Drop Off location(s). If you donate a new pair of socks there, you will receive on entry for every pair of socks into our drawing. We will draw a winner that will receive a 4 pack of VIP ticket to the Asylum & Hotel Fear!!

Please purchase NEW socks, preferably with the tags holding them together. (Remember how socks escape in your dryer? Imagine a separated sock in a SEA of socks!) Even if you are too scared to actually go through the attractions, (there are some people) you can still help and donate socks! Help us help the community! Help us KILL THE CHILL!
